LES MISERABLES

FEATURING

“STARS”

RENAMED

“FLAMES”

SUNG BY STANNIS BARATHEON

In place of JAVERT

STANNIS BARATHEON
(In an aside while his army waits after King Stannis meets with his brother King Renly)

I did my brother Renly meet
How dare he give me a peach?
What does he hope to teach?

(To army at parley)

Get out of my reach!

(All run off, scared. )

(aside)

Renly thinks he’s so sweet –
Daring to take my Iron seat!

(STANNIS is alone; his soliloquy “FLAMES” follows:]

STANNIS BARATHEON

SINGS

There, out in the shadows,
My brother is cunning,
A pretty face!
Fallen from Grace.

Where my brother goes
Stannis shall follow
With gritted teeth
Till we come face to face.
Till we come face to face.

He knows how brotherhood goes.
Mine is the way of the Red God.
R’hollor is my sworn Lord.
He does not even nod at my God
So he shall have no reward.

So if he falls
As Robert fell
He shall have
Only flame
And my sword.

FLAMES Lighting the sky
Too bright to see
Too hot to count
I often ask why
You brighten the darkness
You are the guardians
Quiet and bright
Lighting the night.
Banning the fright.

Fire licks at the sky.
Flames reach up on high.
“Hear Renly’s name?”
It burns and it burns.
This is my aim!

And if he falls,
Crashes and burns,
He falls
In flame.

And so I say, so it is written,
In the fires of paradise
That those who sin
Never win
They pay a price!

R’hollor, please let me win?
So that I may see him
Dead in the ground
All safe and sound.
Till then
This I swear
This I swear
by the FLAMES

House Words

What is dead may never die
He hears the waves call his name
The wind whispers, calls in sighs
We do not sow, in this game

We always pay our debts
To our friends and our foes
Hear me roar, hear us roar
Everyone does, he knows

When the cold winds blow
The pack survives
But when winter comes
The lone wolf doesn’t die

Fire cannot kill the dragon
She steps onto the pyre
The blood magic of old
Returns, with blood and fire

Family, duty, honour
Honour binds her to the river
But her duty is north
And family it gives her

Ours is the fury
Not one, not two, but three
The stags dance for the throne
Slaughtering happily

We are the sword in the darkness
The shield that guards the realms of men
But what happens to the boy
When home calls to him again?

King Robert

I used to rule the world

Armies rose when I gave the word

Now in the evening I drink alone

Think of life I used to know

I used to roll the dice

Feel the fear in my enemies eyes

Listen as the crowd would sing:

"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key

Next the walls were closed on me

And I discovered that my castles stand

Upon pillars of gold, and that it all bends

I hear the bells of all septs are ringing

And Silent Sisters in choirs are singing

Be my mirror my hammers hangs

Scattered and idle my armies stand

For some reason I can’t explain

Once you know there was never, never an honest word

That was when I ruled the world

(IOhhh)

It was the wicked and wild wind

Blew down the doors to let me in.

Shattered kingdoms and the sound of drums

People could not believe what I’d become

Hungry Bloody Lannisters wait

For my head on a silver plate

Just a puppet on a lonely string

Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear the bells of all septs are ringing

And Silent Sisters in choirs are singing

Be my mirror my hammers hangs

Fattened and idle my armies now stand

For some reason I can’t explain

Once you know there was never, never an honest word

That was when I ruled the world

(Ohhhhh Ohhh Ohhh)
